GET INVOLVED WITH THE LAKE ARTS COUNCIL

We appreciate all the support we can get and there are lots of ways for you to provide it. The most important issue is to create a link between us so we can keep you up to date on what’s happening in the cultural life at the Lake.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH THE LAKE ARTS COUNCIL

The Lake Arts Council is a volunteer organization that is in need of members to serve on one of seven committees. The committees are:

Performing Arts
Visual Arts
Event Coordination
Finance
Fundraising
Communications
Literary Arts

The Performing and Visual Arts committees are the most active. The Performing Arts Committee brings in such diverse entertainment as the Missoula Children’s Theater, the Missouri Pops Symphony and the Variety Showcase. Committee members are involved from selecting performing groups to taking tickets on the night of the performance.
The Visual Arts Committee is responsible for Student Art Quest, the Palm Sunday Art Show, the Patriotic Art Show and Arts for the Seasons, held at Porto Cima. Committee members help getting invitations to artists to participate, registering entrees, setting up displays and closing the shows.
The Event Coordination Committee involves itself with the above two committees by facilitating such things as refreshments or exhibits of allied· art groups in the lobby before a performance.
In addition, volunteers can be of assistance to our part time Administrative Assistant in preparation for events, as well as maintaining membership rolls.
You don’t have to have artistic talents to be a valuable volunteer for the Lake Arts Council. All you need is an interest in helping nurture the arts here at the Lake. Tell us about your skill set and let’s see if we can find the place they can be put to best use.
